Darts in hand
- With three darts: treble 18, treble 17, double 8.
- With two darts 121 cannot be finished — the most you can check out in two is 110.
- With one dart only doubles and the bull finish, and 121 is not one of them.
If the first dart misses
Hit the single 18 instead of treble 18 and you are left on 103, which you cannot finish this turn; score sensibly and come back to a double next turn.
The finishing double
The route finishes on double 8. If that dart catches the single instead, the double halves cleanly: double 4, double 2, double 1. That is why even doubles are the favourite finishes.
Other ways out
These routes add up too. Players pick between them by the trebles they trust and the double they like to finish on.

- T18 T9 D20treble 18, treble 9, double 20
- T19 T8 D20treble 19, treble 8, double 20
