Darts in hand
- With three darts: treble 19, single 20, double 20.
- With two darts 117 cannot be finished — the most you can check out in two is 110.
- With one dart only doubles and the bull finish, and 117 is not one of them.
If the first dart misses
Hit the single 19 instead of treble 19 and you are left on 98, which still goes out with 2 darts: treble 20, double 19.
The finishing double
The route finishes on double 20. If that dart catches the single instead, the double halves cleanly: double 10, double 5. That is why even doubles are the favourite finishes.
Other ways out
These routes add up too. Players pick between them by the trebles they trust and the double they like to finish on.
- T20 17 D20treble 20, single 17, double 20
- T18 T17 D6treble 18, treble 17, double 6
- T17 T10 D18treble 17, treble 10, double 18
