The route

  1. T19treble 19
  2. D4double 4

65 is a two-dart finish: treble 19, double 4.

Dartboard with the route for 65 marked

Darts in hand

  • With three darts: treble 19, double 4.
  • With two darts: treble 19, double 4.
  • With one dart only doubles and the bull finish, and 65 is not one of them.

If the first dart misses

Hit the single 19 instead of treble 19 and you are left on 46. That has no finish with the darts you have left, so use the next dart to set up: single 6 leaves double 20.

The finishing double

The route finishes on double 4. If that dart catches the single instead, the double halves cleanly: double 2, double 1. That is why even doubles are the favourite finishes.

Other ways out

These routes add up too. Players pick between them by the trebles they trust and the double they like to finish on.

  • T11 D16treble 11, double 16
  • T15 D10treble 15, double 10
  • 25 D20outer bull (25), double 20
