Darts in hand
- With three darts: treble 20, treble 20, double 8.
- With two darts 136 cannot be finished — the most you can check out in two is 110.
- With one dart only doubles and the bull finish, and 136 is not one of them.
If the first dart misses
Hit the single 20 instead of treble 20 and you are left on 116, which you cannot finish this turn; score sensibly and come back to a double next turn.
The finishing double
The route finishes on double 8. If that dart catches the single instead, the double halves cleanly: double 4, double 2, double 1. That is why even doubles are the favourite finishes.
Other ways out
These routes add up too. Players pick between them by the trebles they trust and the double they like to finish on.
- T17 T15 D20treble 17, treble 15, double 20
- T18 T14 D20treble 18, treble 14, double 20
- T19 T13 D20treble 19, treble 13, double 20
