The route

  1. T17treble 17
  2. D20double 20

91 is a two-dart finish: treble 17, double 20.

Dartboard with the route for 91 marked

Darts in hand

  • With three darts: treble 17, double 20.
  • With two darts: treble 17, double 20.
  • With one dart only doubles and the bull finish, and 91 is not one of them.

If the first dart misses

Hit the single 17 instead of treble 17 and you are left on 74. That has no finish with the darts you have left, so use the next dart to set up: double 17 leaves double 20.

The finishing double

The route finishes on double 20. If that dart catches the single instead, the double halves cleanly: double 10, double 5. That is why even doubles are the favourite finishes.

Other ways out

These routes add up too. Players pick between them by the trebles they trust and the double they like to finish on.

  • T19 D17treble 19, double 17
  • T17 8 D16treble 17, single 8, double 16
  • T19 18 D8treble 19, single 18, double 8
