Darts in hand
- With three darts: treble 16, double 20.
- With two darts: treble 16, double 20.
- With one dart only doubles and the bull finish, and 88 is not one of them.
If the first dart misses
Hit the single 16 instead of treble 16 and you are left on 72. That has no finish with the darts you have left, so use the next dart to set up: double 16 leaves double 20.
The finishing double
The route finishes on double 20. If that dart catches the single instead, the double halves cleanly: double 10, double 5. That is why even doubles are the favourite finishes.
Other ways out
These routes add up too. Players pick between them by the trebles they trust and the double they like to finish on.
- T20 D14treble 20, double 14
- T18 D17treble 18, double 17
- D19 BULLdouble 19, bull (50)
