Darts in hand
- With three darts: treble 17, double 16.
- With two darts: treble 17, double 16.
- With one dart only doubles and the bull finish, and 83 is not one of them.
If the first dart misses
Hit the single 17 instead of treble 17 and you are left on 66. That has no finish with the darts you have left, so use the next dart to set up: double 13 leaves double 20.
The finishing double
The route finishes on double 16. If that dart catches the single instead, the double halves cleanly: double 8, double 4, double 2, double 1. That is why even doubles are the favourite finishes.
