The route

  1. T17treble 17
  2. 20single 20
  3. D20double 20

111 needs all three darts: treble 17, single 20, double 20.

Dartboard with the route for 111 marked

Darts in hand

  • With three darts: treble 17, single 20, double 20.
  • With two darts 111 cannot be finished — the most you can check out in two is 110.
  • With one dart only doubles and the bull finish, and 111 is not one of them.

If the first dart misses

Hit the single 17 instead of treble 17 and you are left on 94, which still goes out with 2 darts: treble 18, double 20.

The finishing double

The route finishes on double 20. If that dart catches the single instead, the double halves cleanly: double 10, double 5. That is why even doubles are the favourite finishes.

Other ways out

These routes add up too. Players pick between them by the trebles they trust and the double they like to finish on.

  • T18 17 D20treble 18, single 17, double 20
  • T19 14 D20treble 19, single 14, double 20
  • T20 11 D20treble 20, single 11, double 20
