Course #2720 plays to a par of 46 over eighteen holes and 71 rooms of track — about 78 metres end to end. It sits in the middle of the set: nothing extreme, but enough slopes and turns to need a plan on most holes. The back nine is where the course bites: par 19 out, but par 27 on the way in.
The longest hole is hole 14, with 6 rooms and 2 turns. Par 4 on holes 14 and 18: these are the holes to play in two careful stages. Short openers: holes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 can be holed in one with the right pace.
Water comes into play on holes 7, 10, 11 and 14. The bridges on holes 11 and 14 have no rails — line them up square and use less power than you think. Slopes tilt the track on holes 1, 4, 6, 14 and 16. Corner banks on holes 2, 3, 5, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17 and 18 let a medium-paced ball turn the corner by itself. On holes 1, 3, 13, 16 and 17 the cup sits in a bowl that gathers a slow ball. On holes 9 and 15 the cup is perched on a hill that sheds a slow ball — come in dead straight and a touch firmer. A block stands in the middle of a room on hole 12; pick a side early. Fences with a narrow gap cross the track on holes 14, 15, 17 and 18.
How to play it
- On a bridge without rails, the putt that matters is the one before it: get the ball into the middle of the room, square to the bridge, and the crossing becomes a straight putt.
- On a hill hole, a putt that stops short rolls back to you. Better to be slightly long and straight than delicate.
- Treat each slope like a stream: aim upstream of the line you want and let the slope bring the ball down to it.
- Send the ball into a corner bank at medium pace. Too hard and it rattles back across the room; too soft and it dies on the bank.
- Use Hint when you are stuck: it shows a good line from where the ball lies, the same line the computer would choose.
