Darts in hand
- With three darts: double 1.
- With two darts: double 1.
- With one dart: double 1.
If the first dart misses
The only dart is the double itself. Drop into the single 1 and 1 is left over — that is an odd number that needs two darts.
The finishing double
The route finishes on double 1. An odd double does not halve: a single leaves an odd number that needs a single and a double, so it costs at least one extra dart.
Other ways out
There is only one way to finish 2 with three darts.
