Darts in hand
- With three darts: treble 20, treble 20, double 16.
- With two darts 152 cannot be finished — the most you can check out in two is 110.
- With one dart only doubles and the bull finish, and 152 is not one of them.
If the first dart misses
Hit the single 20 instead of treble 20 and you are left on 132, which you cannot finish this turn; score sensibly and come back to a double next turn.
The finishing double
The route finishes on double 16. If that dart catches the single instead, the double halves cleanly: double 8, double 4, double 2, double 1. That is why even doubles are the favourite finishes.
Other ways out
These routes add up too. Players pick between them by the trebles they trust and the double they like to finish on.
- T20 T18 D19treble 20, treble 18, double 19
- T19 T19 D19treble 19, treble 19, double 19
- T17 T17 BULLtreble 17, treble 17, bull (50)
