The route

  1. T17treble 17
  2. 12single 12
  3. D20double 20

103 needs all three darts: treble 17, single 12, double 20.

Dartboard with the route for 103 marked

Darts in hand

  • With three darts: treble 17, single 12, double 20.
  • With two darts 103 cannot be finished from here.
  • With one dart only doubles and the bull finish, and 103 is not one of them.

If the first dart misses

Hit the single 17 instead of treble 17 and you are left on 86, which still goes out with 2 darts: treble 18, double 16.

The finishing double

The route finishes on double 20. If that dart catches the single instead, the double halves cleanly: double 10, double 5. That is why even doubles are the favourite finishes.

Other ways out

These routes add up too. Players pick between them by the trebles they trust and the double they like to finish on.

  • T18 9 D20treble 18, single 9, double 20
  • T17 20 D16treble 17, single 20, double 16
  • T19 6 D20treble 19, single 6, double 20
