Darts in hand
- With three darts: double 16.
- With two darts: double 16.
- With one dart: double 16.
If the first dart misses
The only dart is the double itself. Drop into the single 16 and 16 is left over — that is double 8.
The finishing double
The route finishes on double 16. If that dart catches the single instead, the double halves cleanly: double 8, double 4, double 2, double 1. That is why even doubles are the favourite finishes.
Other ways out
These routes add up too. Players pick between them by the trebles they trust and the double they like to finish on.

- 12 D10single 12, double 10
- 8 D12single 8, double 12
