- With three darts: treble 20, treble 20, bull (50).
- With two darts 170 cannot be finished — the most you can check out in two is 110.
- With one dart only doubles and the bull finish, and 170 is not one of them.
If the first dart misses
Hit the single 20 instead of treble 20 and you are left on 150, which you cannot finish this turn; score sensibly and come back to a double next turn.
The finishing double
The route finishes on the bull. It is the hardest double to hit in the game, so keep this route for when there is no other way out.

There is only one way to finish 170 with three darts.
