Darts in hand
- With three darts: treble 20, treble 17, double 18.
- With two darts 147 cannot be finished — the most you can check out in two is 110.
- With one dart only doubles and the bull finish, and 147 is not one of them.
If the first dart misses
Hit the single 20 instead of treble 20 and you are left on 127, which you cannot finish this turn; score sensibly and come back to a double next turn.
The finishing double
The route finishes on double 18. If that dart catches the single instead, the double halves cleanly: double 9. That is why even doubles are the favourite finishes.
Other ways out
These routes add up too. Players pick between them by the trebles they trust and the double they like to finish on.
- T19 T18 D18treble 19, treble 18, double 18
- T19 BULL D20treble 19, bull (50), double 20
- T20 T19 D15treble 20, treble 19, double 15
